The central Dalmatian port city of Split with its historic old town is on World Heritage List of UNESCO<\/a><\/strong>. The historic center of Split was largely built in the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian<\/a><\/strong> This resulted in a huge Labyrinth of small streets<\/a><\/strong> in which one gets lost even after years and as a good connoisseur of the city, even if it is due to the glass of wine too much. No matter where you look - History<\/a><\/strong> and history again. Here are a few Impressions from Split<\/a><\/strong>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With the port of Split<\/a><\/strong>,the Long-distance bus station<\/a><\/strong> and the The train station is Split<\/a><\/strong> Main traffic junction in Dalmatia. From Split`s Airport Ka\u0161tela<\/a><\/strong> on the coast of the Bay of Ka\u0161tela you can reach Split's old town in less than 30 minutes by bus or taxi. Taxi from the airport<\/a><\/strong> to Split around the Bay of Ka\u0161tela is available for just under 40 euros. With the Bus<\/a><\/strong> every 30 minutes from in front of the airport terminal, a ride with just under 4.50 euros is cheap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Split`s „Riva“<\/a><\/strong> is the palm-lined promenade of the Dalmatian metropolis popular with locals and tourists port of Split<\/a><\/strong>. If you visit Split, be it just in transit, you should definitely visit fish market<\/a><\/strong> in „Marmontova“<\/a><\/strong> street.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It is also worth an extended visit \"Pazar\" is probably the best known market<\/a><\/strong> rom Split near the \"Silver Gate\", one of the gates of the Diocletian's Palace from Roman times. Near the market, the gate leads back to the palace area to the \"Peristil\", the main square of the former imperial palace.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The is located directly on the \"Peristil\" Sveti Duje Cathedral<\/a><\/strong>, whose steeple offers a wonderful view of the city and the harbor. However, the ascent over the old metal structure of the stairs is not everyone's cup of tea, recognizable by a few panicked faces.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the top left of the picture next to the church tower in the green you can see the popular cafe „Vidilica“<\/a><\/strong> with a fantastic view of the city and the offshore islands, which is located next to the old Jewish cemetery. From here it goes far uphill in the Park Marjan<\/a><\/strong> (below in the picture). A must for every Split visitor, just like an extended walk or one Hike in the \u201cMarjan\u201d whale park<\/a><\/strong>. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the picture below, the southwest side of the harbor with a view of \"Riva\" and a kind of \"Walk of Fame\". The legends of Croatian sports heroes are immortalized along the waterfront and you can get to the marina.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The big ACI Marina<\/a><\/strong> can be found here with the numerous sea boats, catamarans and swanky yachts. Not far from it on the cliff closes Park „Sustipan“<\/a><\/strong> a popular photo location for newlyweds.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There are many Beaches in Split<\/a><\/strong>. Those around the forest park \"Marjan\" or along the coastline of the city invite you to take a walk or just \"dive in\" or to laze around.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

On the north side of the sport-crazy city the stadium \"Poljud\"<\/a><\/strong>, home of the legendary football club \"Hajduk Split\". It is located near the coast on the Bay of Ka\u0161tela in an impressive setting.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If you stroll through the old town through Split and look closely, you will always be surprised by the many architectural elements from all eras of the eventful City history<\/a><\/strong>. Even if you know the city very well after years, there are still new historical ones every day Contemporary witnesses in architecture<\/a><\/strong>that had not been discovered before.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
