The island of Mljet with its National Park<\/a><\/strong> on the west side is in southern Dalmatia, just under 30 kilometers northwest of Dubrovnik. The approximately 98 square kilometer island is the most forested island in the Adriatic. The journey to the island by car ferry is via the small ferry pier on the Pelje\u0161ac peninsula near Ston. From Prapratno to Sobra on Mljet<\/a><\/strong>, which is located in the middle of the island east of the national park. Depending on the season and season, it is possible to arrive by catamaran from Split or Dubrovnik.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Numerous marked hiking routes through the island mountains, forests, along the coast or around the lakes in the interior can be found on Mljet in order to fully enjoy the wonderful nature there. Going on your own harbors an even bigger adventure, but all too often - from pure experience - ends up in a dead end.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The monastery \"St. Maria \u201cis a popular destination, often by boat, catamaran or excursion tour from Dubrovnik, especially during the season. Then it gets a little more restless on the small route along the lakes to the monastery, but the rest of the national park remains unaffected by this, since the day tourists do not advance further on the island due to lack of time. Nice thing!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Seldom have I discovered a nicer and more relaxing place for culinary retreats in the Dalmatian island world on my tours like this - Soline<\/a><\/strong>. A tiny settlement along a small inlet to the lakes on the south side of Mljet. After a longer hike to a delicious octopus salad and a cool beer or a glass of wine, you feel like you've arrived in paradise.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
