A nice tour is the hike from Vis over the island mountains to Komi\u017ea on the other side. It connects the two most important, most famous and most popular places on the island. The starting point is the main road towards Komi\u017ea at the exit from Vis.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
After breakfast in the morning and a delicious coffee on the Vis Riva, we start out along the main road. Markings are already clearly visible here and after a few minutes you reach a forest path branching off the road uphill towards the island forest.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
It should be noted that the times of most of the routes on the signs (as above) are a little too short if you want to enjoy the tour and not go jogging. As a photo lover, it makes sense to schedule for an hour they say 30 minutes more.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
First, the path diagonally uphill to the road to Komi\u017ea opens up new perspectives from Vis, which were not known before when you were in the \u201cVi\u0161ka luka\u201d bay. Finally uphill after a few bends the forest thickens a little and Vis is no longer visible in the back.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Now the path winds up and down for a long time through the forested mountains into the interior of the island. Every now and then there are views of the Adriatic Sea, where you can spot tiny white dots from a distance. There are numerous boats sailing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Every now and then on the route you can marvel at olive groves and other cultivated areas when the forest mixes with the cultural landscape. Lonely houses along the way finally lead you to the small island town of \u017dena Glava, from which you have a fantastic panoramic view of the small valley opposite and the vastness of the Adriatic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After an extended break in the shade and a little refreshment while enjoying the beautiful landscape, the path continues between a few houses on a small rocky path up towards the Hum summit. The local mongrel dog was not pleased when crossing the narrow streets up to the path.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Leaving \u017dena Glava behind us, it's steep and rocky, the summit and the beautiful scenery in the side valley in front of you. Time and again it was impressive how many stones had to be put aside over the centuries in order to be able to reasonably farm there. Always a little wall everywhere.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Now around noon the sun is burning, so it is always advisable to have a hat, a small towel and plenty of water in your luggage. The power of the sun in Dalmatia should not be underestimated, no matter what time of year. Another little break for a drink, because a beautiful butterfly greets and wishes good luck.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the midday heat, you step in and out with the thought: \"Why am I doing this to me?\" However, the force of nature and the beauty of the tour compensate for all the exertions in the midday sun and every now and then a cloud donates shadows as you pass by with pity . The path goes on and on for a long time with wonderful panoramic views of the blue sea.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another small resident of the island, a friend of the sun, enjoys sunbathing along the way up to the Hum. Now it is not too far to the intermediate destination, the summit with its small chapel and the \"amazing view\", so you think.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At last! Arrived on the mountain at the small chapel \"Sveti Duh\"! You can't get enough of the fantastic view of Komi\u017ea, the extensive bay and the open sea. Here on the horizon Italy can be guessed on some days, with an absolutely clear view. Now it is also time for the \u201cvictory beer\u201d and a little break before descending to Komi\u017ea on a small stony serpentine path.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After the \"victory break\" a small entry in the summit book in the chapel and further down the path, the start of which is on the left below \"Sveti Duh\". Slowly thoughts of delicious fish dishes come to mind, which unfortunately can only be feasted far more than 500 meters lower in the coastal town.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

On the way down, wonderful views of the island of Svetac (top left on the horizon) and more and more detailed scenarios of Komi\u017ea and the mountains around. The fish is thought to be waiting down there.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Impressive views of the city and the port. Finally, at the end of the path, you reach the road to Komi\u017ea, which offers interesting views of the Franciscan monastery \u201cSv. Nikola \u201d, which sits above the coastal town in the mountain between olive groves. Now down the switchbacks, the fish is already waiting.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

More little breaks for the purpose of photography, because such a backdrop rarely offers the city and the surrounding area.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Komi\u017ea from above! From here you can already guess the labyrinth of the beautiful old streets of the historic place. Not long until the sea with its crystal clear water is reached, in which \"our\" fish swam.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
When we finally arrive, hunger has to wait. A small tour through the streets of the city with its natural harbor is a must before you go to the fish.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
After the curiosity is reasonably satisfied, despite good knowledge of the place after years, hunger prevails and it is time to feast. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And yet stayed longer than expected! It was so nice and funny again with the kindly people from Komi\u017ea with their warmth. After all, you have to say \u201cHello!\u201d to some of the localities, out of \u201cabsolutely pure sense of duty!\u201d Then you are satisfied, tired and lively back to Vis with the promise that you haven't slept so well for a long time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
