The island of Hvar is part of the Central Dalmatian archipelago in a picturesque, natural setting. It lies on the southern, sunny side of the world, which gives it a Mediterranean look and serenity and makes it the sunniest island in Croatia. It is known for its pleasant Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers. Countless olive groves testify to the excellent olive oil that is produced on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The geographical location, the fragmented coast with numerous picturesque beaches and crystal clear sea, lots of sunshine, untouched nature, lavender fields, a rich historical and cultural heritage make the island of Hvar one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Croatia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tourist hot spot there is the one of the same name City of Hvar<\/strong><\/a>. Due to historical turmoil, the island was under different rule over the centuries, which is remarkable everywhere. Nice and rich meet there and plenty of \"party people\" in high season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this hustle and bustle is too much in the season, it is better to choose the quieter north side of the island as in Stari Grad<\/strong><\/a>, Jelsa<\/strong><\/a> or Vrboska<\/strong><\/a>. In the Bay of Stari Grad not far from the old town is the island's car ferry port with direct Connection<\/strong><\/a> about 2 hours to Split. Hvar town can also be easily reached from Split by catamaran in a much shorter time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the easternmost tip of Hvar`s, just under 60km away, the eye is delighted by the coastal town Su\u0107uraj<\/strong><\/a> with its lighthouse at the tip of the island. There you have it again Connection to mainland to Drvenik<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hvar is also very popular with cycling fans and hikers<\/strong><\/a>. Other places: Malo Grablje<\/strong><\/a>, Velo Grablje<\/a><\/strong>, Svir\u010de<\/a><\/strong>, Humac<\/strong><\/a>, Milna<\/a><\/strong>, Pitve, Sveta Nedjelja, Ivan Dolac, Dol…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
